A source confirms Prince Harry and Princess Eugenie are still very close, denying rumors of a falling out after photos of Eugenie with Piers Morgan sparked speculation.
Prince Harry and Princess Eugenie have not had a falling out, despite recent speculation. A source close to the Duke of Sussex tells PEOPLE that, “The Duke remains close to Princess Eugenie. They always have and always will be.”
The rumors started after Piers Morgan claimed on Piers Morgan Uncensored that Harry went completely ballistic after Eugenie was photographed hugging him outside a London pub. Morgan, who has been critical of Harry and Meghan Markle, shared the photo on his show, which sparked speculation about a rift.
But insiders say that’s not true. According to the source, “There’s no truth to the rumors.” The cousins continue to share a strong bond and are still in regular contact.
Harry and Eugenie’s close relationship has been visible for years. In the Harry & Meghan Netflix series released in 2022, Eugenie is the only royal family member who appeared in the documentary.
The series featured home video clips of Prince Harry and Princess Eugenie riding bikes and Eugenie playing in the ocean with Prince Archie, Harry’s son. The cousins also recalled a fun Halloween night in 2016, where they went out in disguise with Meghan Markle and Jack Brooksbank, Eugenie’s now-husband.
Eugenie and Jack attended Harry and Meghan’s wedding in 2018, just months after their own royal wedding. Their children, August, 4, and Ernest, 22 months, are close in age to Harry’s kids, Archie, 5, and Lilibet, 3.
Princess Eugenie has supported Harry publicly since his move to the U.S. In 2022, she joined him at the Super Bowl in California, one of his first major public appearances in the U.S. since stepping back from royal duties.
Eugenie and Jack divide their time between the U.K. and Portugal for his work in the private sector. In 2023, Harry and Meghan reportedly visited the couple in Portugal after attending the Invictus Games in Germany.
Reports also suggest that Harry and Meghan purchased a vacation home in Portugal, possibly to stay connected with Eugenie’s family during European trips.
