Was Michelle Trachtenberg's Script for Toy Monster Overlooked by Studios? Producer Reveals THIS Amid Her Death at 39

Michelle Trachtenberg, popularly known for her role as Georgina Sparkles in Gossip Girl, was found dead at her New York apartment at the age of 39. Before the actress’ passing away, she penned the script for Toy Monster, which was overlooked by the studios.

Following Trachtenberg’s death, the producer, Casey Tebo, revealed to have received the dialogues for the potential film, but the Hollywood industry was not ready for that side of the actress.

While sitting down for an interview with People Magazine, Tebo shared that the late actress’ boyfriend, Jay Cohen, had sent him the script. The producer revealed, "The only scripts I remember staying with me like that in recent memory were two. Here Comes the Flood by Simon Kinberg and Toy Monster around 2019. Because they were the two best, by a landslide."

Tebo went on to state that he read Buffy the Vampire Slayer star’s script on the day of her death and is trying to bring the story to screens. On his social media account, the producer continued to claim that he was doing everything possible. All he needs is a good director, and the work on the movie could begin.

Trachtenberg, apart from Gosspi Girl and Buffy, has appeared in notable titles such as 17 Again, The Ice Princess, Harriet the Spy, and a single episode of Law and Order. 

The producer, further in the conversation with the media portal, shared, "One of the issues with our industry is they will recognize someone like Simon as a great writer, but they will always look at Michelle as Harriet the Spy or Georgina Sparks."

Michelle Trachtenberg was declared dead by the police officials when they found her lying unresponsive in her New York apartment. The suspicion of foul play has been ruled out, but the investigation is underway.
