EXCLUSIVE: Kirti Kulhari: Thrilled to know that Pink won at National Film Awards
Pink actor Kirti Kulhari speaks about the movie winning the Best Film Social Issues award in the 64th National Film Awards.
The 64th National Film Awards was announced today and well, amongst other categories, the courtroom drama Pink won the National award in the best film for social issues category.
Directed by Aniruddha Roy Chowdhury, the movie featured Amitabh Bachchan, Taapsee Pannu, Kirti Kulhari, Angad Bedi, Andrea Tariang, Piyush Mishra and Dhritiman Chatterjee in the lead roles. The movie was co-produced by ace filmmaker Shoojit Sircar.
We got in contact with Kirti Kulhari to know her reaction on the same. A super thrilled Kirti said, "Excited and happy to know that the film won an award. It feels great, there can't be any other reaction to it. Pink got appreciated everywhere."
We further asked her if the award came as a surprise or were they expecting the film to win an award, to which Kirti said, "I don't know about the social issue thing but I was expecting the best film, just the best film award. Don't know what the other categories are. Whatever it is it's great."
The film was considered one of the most feminist movies of last year and had stirred the debate of women safety yet again.
Apart from this, Akshay Kumar won the National Award in the Best Actor category while Sonam Kapoor got a special mention for her role in Neerja. Neerja also won the National Award in the Best Hindi film category. Ajay Devgn starrer Shivaay won the prestigious award in the best visual effects category.
