Box Office Report: Tiger Shroff's Munna Micheal struggles; Lipstick Under My Burkha continues to grow
Here's how Munna Micheal and Lipstick Under My Burkha fared at the box office.
Tiger Shroff and Niddhi Agerwal starring Munna Micheal and Alankrita Shrivastava's Lipstick Under My Burkha released last week in theatres.
While Munna Micheal which released in over 3000 screens, underperformed at the box office, Lipstick Under My Burkha despite having released in limited screens (400) has done good business.
On Tuesday, Munna Micheal collected around INR 2.75 crore at the box office taking its total collection to TOTAL - INR 26.87 crore approx. Lipstick Under My Burkha minted INR 1.25 crore approx. The movie, in fact, did a better business than on Monday, which is a good sign for the movie. The movie's total collection till Tuesday stood at 7.75 crore approx.
According to the trade site, the first week business of LUMB is crossing 10 crore nett and it's quite likely the film will cross 20 crore nett or even 25 crore nett depending on what happens on day eight. There is competition every week but this film will not be affected by that as its limited releases and won't find it difficult to hold its screens.
In an earlier interview, Ratna Pathak was asked what response she thinks that Indian audience will give to the film? Answering this, she said, "My real hope is that men take lots away from the film. Women will identify with it. They will see themselves, their aunts, their family members. Some will be somewhat shocked. Some will say yes, this is true, but do we need to talk about this? I’m expecting that both kinds of responses may come from the general public but all the same, I don’t think there will be any real opposition from women who watch the film. Whoever comes with an open mind will get a lot out of it. Men or women, young or old, doesn’t matter."
