Badhaai Ho Mid Movie Review: Neena Gupta and Gajraj Rao are the real stars in this Ayushmann and Sanya starrer
The first half of Ayushmann Khurrana and Sanya Malhotra's Badhaai Ho will leave you laughing on the floor. Stay tuned for full review.
Not every “good news” is a good news, and especially when you hit a certain age, romance is thought to be redundant. But not when it comes to the Kaushiks, especially Mr Kaushik, played by Gajraj Rao and Mrs Kaushik, played by Neena Gupta in the comedy drama Badhaai Ho.
Ironically, the movie starts with a Hanuman aarti (who is considered a brahmachari) and 15 mins in, we see a turn of event with a rainy night bearing witness to the union of a couple. The result of this is the couple, who are parents to two kids, are told they are going to be parents again. Neena and Gajraj nail their characters to the T. The dilemma of breaking the news to their kids and the innocent exchange of love between them is endearing. Ayushmann Khurrana as their son Nakul is perfect but has very little to do. His embarrassment on knowing on what could possibly be his worst nightmare, will leave you in splits. The supporting characters have been well picked and we absolutely love the comic timing of Surekha Sukhri who plays Mr. Kaushik’s mother.
However, Sanya Malhotra, who plays love interest to Khurrana, has no particular screen time in the first half. We hope to see her more in the second half.
