Junglee Mid Movie Review: Vidyut Jammwal starrer fails to deliver an action packed entertainer

Chuck Russell who earlier gave us fantasy superhero comedy film The Mask is here with a Bollywood flick. The movie opens with how international poachers are plotting to kill elephants to take away their tusks.
The movie later establishes Vidyut Jammwal's role who is a vet by profession and lives away from his home in Mumbai. He decides to go back to his home 10 years later and major turn of events take place post he reaches his father’s elephant reserve Chandrika. After reaching, he re-unites with his childhood friends including elephant Bhola who will soon become a father.
Talking about performances, I was expecting more from Vidyut, but he fails to deliver. The movie also stars newbies Pooja Sawant & Asha Bhat and they fare well.
On the writing level, the writers could have made the narrative better as I feel the makers have written it lazily as there is very little substance.
The first half is marred by slugging pace and also fails to establish many factors including why Vidyut learns martial arts apart from being a doctor.
In the second half, we can expect more action and drama as Vidyut will now fight international poachers racket.
