Kabir Singh Mid Movie Review: Shahid Kapoor impresses with his compelling performance
Shahid Kapoor and Kiara Advani starrer Kabir Singh, which is the Hindi remake of South Indian movie Arjun Reddy is marred by predictable plot but the narrative till now is woven well.
The movie opens with Shahid Kapoor's scene which establishes the fact that he is on the path of destruction as his lover is married off to another guy. He drinks heavily every time including while he is doing surgery. Soon, the flashback takes you to the campus track and the love story of Kabir and Preeti unfolds.
Coming to acting, Shahid clearly steals the show with his impeccable acting chops. On the other hand, Kiara is good in parts. I have to say that actors who are playing side roles have done a good job.
Speaking of the writing, the same is shallow and what is sorely disappointing is the editing and pace of the movie. The first half also falters at character development of Preeti. Till now, the first half, as mentioned, is slow and was peppered with drama and action, leaving everyone waiting for a better storyline and fast pace in the second half.
