Mulk Mid-Movie Review: Anubhav Sinha has a point to make and you better listen

Mulk is the story of a Muslim family and their struggles. Anubhav Sinha has directed a riveting story about a family's struggle to reclaim their honour after a family member takes to terrorism. The film stars Rishi Kapoor and Taapsee Pannu in key characters. It is based on a real life story.
When you combine a convincing cast like Rishi Kapoor, Manoj Pahwa, Taapsee Pannu and Prateik Smit Babbar, you know you can rely on your actors to give riveting performances. But the star of Mulk is Anubhav Sinha who falls into the minority of filmmakers that show their point of view as it is, with no filters attached. Towards the interval, the motive is set in stone and the court scenes that were teased during the trailer come after the intermission. Rishi Kapoor and Manoj Pahwa are veterans you don't mess with and Taapsee is subdued but effective. As small as Prateik's role was, it completed its purpose and made you feel a range of emotions - from sympathy to blind hatred just like it did to Murad Ali Mohammed (Rishi Kapoor).
