Stree Mid Movie Review: Rajkummar Rao is out and out funny and leaves you impatient for the second half
Stree Mid Movie Review: The first half is just the beginning and you will eagerly await for the second half to see more of Shraddha Kapoor and to know more about Stree. Rajkummar Rao shows us yet again that he has all the facets to play a commercial hero.
From the first five minutes of Stree, the crux of the movie is set and that is 'STREE' herself. Set in Chanderi, Madhya Pradesh, Rajkummar Rao plays the role of Vicky, a small-town self-proclaimed macho man who falls in love with a woman, he meets once a year. But, there is more than meets the eye. Rajkummar shows us yet again that he has all the facets to play a commercial hero and strays away from the serious roles we were accustomed to seeing him in. His accent, dialogue delivery and Romeo avatar are entertaining and keeps you hooked to his character. It seems as though Shraddha Kapoor had a 'special appearance' in the first half but will play the dominating factor after the interval.
Pankaj Tripathi is the highlight, even in just two scenes while Aparshakti Khurrana and Abhishek Banerjee play the classic two sidekicks to the main hero, which we are so used to seeing in such movies. The horror elements in the film are a breath of fresh air even though the tinge of humour never leaves its side just like Stree is always on the horizon, parallel to her prey. The first half is just the beginning and you will eagerly await for the second half to know more about Stree.
Swag se karenge Stree ka swagat! @beingsalmankhan @katrinakaif #STREE @rajkummar_rao
For the second half, we hope to see more of Shraddha and dig into her character as well as more scenes with Pankaj as he may just steal the spotlight yet again.
