Talking during an interview with us, Megastar Mohanlal spoke about Mollywood films being remade in other languages and spilled the beans about Drishyam 2’s theatrical release.
At a time when we are all waiting to watch the upcoming film Drishyam 2 starring Mohanlal and Meena in the lead roles, the actor has opened up during an exclusive interview with us, how he feels about the remake films and about Drishyam 2. When he was asked about his take on films being remade in other languages, he said that it was a good thing as people from other regions too, can enjoy the film.
He said, “So many movies of mine were remade in Hindi by Priyadarshan. My films were remade in Hindi, Tamil, Telugu and Kannada. When we get a good subject, it can be remade in all languages. Remaking is a big art. To bring the essence of a film in their own language with their own actors is a big task. It is a nice thing. I would love to watch some other actor playing my role"
About Drishyam 2 getting a direct release on OTT platform, Mohanlal said that it made him happy as the film will reach his fans staying abroad too. Mohanlal also hinted that they may release the film on the big screens after the pandemic situation is contained. He said, “After theatres open, we can bring back the film to the big screens after four months.” Directed by Jeethu Joseph, Drishyam 2 will be released on Amazon Prime tomorrow.
