In a shocking turn of events, Samantha Ruth Prabhu’s father Joseph Prabhu has passed away. In the wake of her father’s demise, the actress penned an emotional note for her dad on Instagram.
In a simple few words, the actress said, “Until we meet again Dad,” with a broken heart emoji attached to the words.

Samantha Ruth Prabhu was born to Joseph Prabhu and Ninette Prabhu in Chennai. Her father is a Telugu Anglo-Indian. In a recent comment from the actress’ spokesperson, it was revealed that Samantha and her family are in a period of mourning and have requested fans, along with the media, to grant them privacy during these trying times.
Recently, in an interview with Galatta India, Samantha opened up about her relationship with her father and how she had to fight to seek validation. The actress expressed herself and shared details about her strained relationship, saying, “My father was kind of like... I think most Indian parents are like that. They think they’re protecting you. He actually told me, ‘You’re not that smart.’”
The actress also revealed that her father would often criticize her, even for getting good grades, attributing them to a flawed education system. This led her to doubt herself and affected her during the early stages of her career, even making her question the success she achieved.
The actress added, “It took me 10-12 years or more to realize I’m not perfect and never will be. But imperfect is pretty cool too.”
Moving ahead, Samantha was recently seen playing the lead role in her web series, Citadel: Honey Bunny, co-starring alongside Varun Dhawan. The series directed by Raj & DK was the Indian adaptation of the American show Citadel with Richard Madden and Priyanka Chopra Jonas.
The show served as a spin-off and prequel to the original series, showcasing a younger version of Priyanka’s character.
Furthermore, Samantha is currently working on her web series Rakt Brahmand alongside Aditya Roy Kapur. She also has the Telugu-language movie Maa Inti Bangaram lined up among her upcoming projects.
