Box Office Report: S.S. Rajamouli’s ‘Baahubali’ creates history on opening day!
S.S. Rajamouli’s ‘Baahubali’, touted to be the biggest film of Indian cinema, is off to an unprecedented start. The film that released on July 10, 2015 has collected 50 crores on its opening day.
‘Baahubali’ has been dubbed in Tamil, Telugu and Hindi. The film did a business of 5.15 crores on its opening day here, which is highest for a dubbed movie in Hindi.
Trade analyst Taran Adarsh confirmed the same on twitter and posted, “#Baahubali creates HISTORY. Records HIGHEST EVER Day 1 biz in *all versions*: ₹ 50 cr. India biz. PHENOMENAL. UNPRECEDENTED.”
He further added, “#Baahubali [Hindi] Fri ₹ 5.15 cr. India biz. HIGHEST biz for a *dubbed movie in Hindi*. FANTASTIC!”
The film’s Telegu version opened better be it in Delhi, Gurgaon or Mumbai. Though it had limited screenings, the occupancies were over 50%, or even house full at places.
