What are the biggest wedding trends of the season for a bride?
A wedding is one of the most important days in your life. And so, I believe both the bride and groom should steer clear of trends when picking their wedding outfit. they should go for garments that are comfortable, reflect their personality, and make them look unique.
How would you describe a classic Varun Bahl bride and groom?
The Varun Bahl bride has a global outlook but is also respectful of tradition at the same time. She is looking for a trousseau that stays true to this aspect of her personality, hence her sartorial sensibilities are drawn to an inimitable marriage of modernity with heritage.
The Varun Bahl man is confident in his own skin and true to their culture. He understands craft, fit, textiles, and believes in marrying tradition with a contemporary outlook.
Destination weddings are the current in thing, what are the major essentials that one must have without paying excess baggage?
• While the urge to look flawless is understandable, don’t go overboard with what you pack. Carrying too many pieces of footwear could be redundant. Stick to a few neutral basics in gold, silver, and nude to tide you through the festivities.
• More often than not, brides don’t end up carrying clutches/bags during their own functions, so this can be skipped. An oversized tote for the flight should suffice.
• Since a hair and make-up artist will be taking care of your looks for the functions, brides need not carry their entire make-up arsenal with them.
Go to silhouettes for the brides to be?
Destination weddings, especially if they are low-key intimate celebrations, are ideal for a bride to experiment with her wardrobe. An avant-garde, unconventional drape or silhouette like a sari gown or pre-draped jumpsuit will allow brides to add a touch of experimentation to their repertoire. These can be used for functions like the cocktail or pool party.
Every bridal trousseau should boast at least one family heirloom piece — this could be a shawl passed down from your grandmother, a layered polki necklace that’s been in the family for generations, or a vintage handwoven sari from your mother.
Floor-length anarkalis or embroidered gowns that marry comfort and versatility with style are another must-have. Not only can they be used for smaller dinners/lunches during the wedding, but they can also be used as a change for the after-parties as they will allow the bride to move around freely.
One trend a bride and groom should just get rid of.
Overly-elaborate constructions, Romanesque statues, and larger-than-life props in wedding decor that overpower the bride and groom on their big day.
