EXCLUSIVE: Bigg Boss 12 contestant Neha Pendse says she won't participate in controversies just for TRP sake

Bigg Boss 12 with Salman Khan as the host is all set to premiere tonight. With 'vichitra jodi' as the theme this year, the controversial show has managed to rope in some real 'masaledaar' entertainers who will make sure to keep you entertained for the next three months. Amongst other celebrity participants, it is actor Neha Pendse who has entered the house. The beautiful actress who last made news for her stint on the show Family Time With Kapil Sharma, in an exclusive chat with Pinkvilla right before she entered the house, spoke about her strategy inside the house, her survival plan and what drove her to be a part of the controversial show.
We asked Neha her primary reason to the enter the glass-walled house, to which she maintained that she wanted people to see a different side to her, something more than her career only. "The major reason for me to enter the house is for people to know a different side to me. People have a certain mindset about me, they know me to be a very serious person as I don't party much nor am I overtly active on social media but there is more to me than what is imbibed in their minds," she continued, "So I think Bigg Boss will give me an opportunity, although it is an extreme opportunity because a lot of extreme situations are going to be there. But, I guess, nevertheless, I don't think any other platform or show will give me the opportunity to showcase myself the way BB will give me."
But, is she prepared for all the drama that is to follow inside the house? "I have braced myself but still, I think, bracing yourself mentally and going through it physically are two different things. So, I think only time will decide how gracefully will I be able to tackle the situations that will come my way." About her strategy inside the house, she added, "I do have the idea of what the format is but there is no strategy for the game because I don't know the kind of people I will be dealing with."
Point taken but you must have seen people getting embroiled in controversies despite not being in their nature. Are you prepared to deal with that? "I think the right way to put it would be that if I genuinely feel something about a particular issue, I will deal with it. But, if I did not think that the situation is genuine and is only be done for TRP sake then probably I won't participate in it as much," Neha stressed.
About the things people will discover about Neha inside the house, she stated, "There are a lot of things, actually. I come across as a very serious and mature girl but there is also a mad and funny side to me which I hope the house is comfortable enough that it comes out naturally. The thing is this side of me is only known to people I am comfortable with. You can't be that with people who don't know you or you think can't handle that side of you. There is a lot of fun side to me which I think is unexpected and will be entertaining and I really hope that I find that comfort inside the house."
Are you afraid of the tags people will put on you? We have seen that happen every season. "Woh toh hoga hi. I am sure I will be tagged based on what I will be doing inside. But I don't even know what I am going to do inside so I am prepared."
When asked if she is a short-tempered person, she said, "I am both. There are times when I surprise myself with the kind of patience I have shown and then there are times when I felt that I could have handled it easily but I made a mountain out of a mole. So, I believe it depends on the kind of situations you are put to. AS a person, I am very unpredictable because I am very moody. So, if I am in a mood to take your shit, I can surprise you with the amount of shit I can handle otherwise I am not sure."
Lastly, we asked her if she is aware of the negative repercussions of her stint on the show. To this, Neha signed off saying, "I do have apprehensions that maybe I will be projected some other way, maybe I will make mistakes but then I had a bigger goal in mind to showcase myself in front of people. And if that means that I have to show the not so positive side to the people, it will be a part and parcel of it."
