Model-turned-actor Namit Khanna is gearing for the launch of his debut web series Twisted that releases tomorrow. Ahead of its scheduled launch, we caught up with Namit to talk about his experience on working on this much talked about series.

When asked how did he come onboard for Twisted, Namit revealed, "Casting director Sameer Bannerjee called me and asked me to come for a meeting. I met Vikram Bhatt sir and Anupam Saroj, the director. He briefed me about Twisted and asked me for my dates. And that is how I came on board. It was pretty simple and there was no audition involved, fortunately."

He continues, "I am a fan of thrillers and murder mysteries. I have always found interest in doing this kind of a role. Web series is a huge opportunity for me as an upcoming actor, to polish my skills and to also be able to build myself as a brand because I come from a completely different world - Fashion. To break out of it, this is a big opportunity and it is a gradual procedure. At that time, this was the best thing to happen."

In Twisted, Namit will be seen romancing television hottie Nia Sharma. Ask him if he was intimidated by her and Namit smiles, "You want me to be honest? I wasn't intimidated at all. In fact, I didn't know who she was till I googled her and found out who she is. I am used to being around pretty women so it doesn't really affect me. But of course, she has got an excessive amount of screen time and she has been through a lot of shoots, so there is some sort of comfort which I appreciate and that was intimidating."

Given that Twisted marks his debut, probe Namit, if he was conscious in front of the camera and the actor admits, "I won't use the word conscious, but yeah I am in my teething stage. I feel way more confident than earlier. I am learning the craft and going ahead. But there are days when you feel completely off. There are days you are very emotional and then there are days where you don't feel anything. But I am learning."

Interestingly, though Namit is making his debut under Vikram Bhatt's productions now, not many know that he was approached by the director for a role in Bhaag Johnny back in 2015.

Reveals Namit, "I actually met Vikram sir quite a few years ago, when he was considering me for a film Bhaag Johnny. I was almost finalized then, but that time things didn't work out for whatever reason. So he remembers me from then. This time I was pretty happy to see him. There is a comfort he kind of projects around him. He exudes a fatherly kind of warmth. That makes you go in a different space."

"With Anupam (the director) too, I connected as a friend. My rapport with him is pretty chilled and not like a director-actor. It was fun. There is no hierarchy and it is more of a joint effort. Because for him also it is a first experience as he is also debuting as a director with Twisted," explains Khanna.

Twisted releases tomorrow. Quiz Namit if he is feeling the jitters and the actor exclaims, "Not jitters because we are shooting everyday. It is pretty hectic. So I have been mentally working a lot and it is exhausting. So I am not able to realize that it is releasing."

On a concluding note, ask Namit if he is now gearing up for Bollywood and pat comes the reply, "Of course. That is the plan from the beginning. All I can do is keep working and wait for it to happen."

And who is on his wishlist in terms of directors and actresses? Namit answers, "Karan Johar for sure. There are a few but at this point I don't really have a choice. I want to work with the best but I know that I would be okay with what I get but that doesn't mean that I am compromising. For me it is either a good script, great role, good director or a good production house. Out of these 4 even if I get 2 things, I would be very happy," reveals Khanna, adding further, "I am open to working with any actress. It is a job. I am not going to marry them. You can put me with any of them."
