EXCLUSIVE: Arjun Bijlani talks about Ishq Mein Marjawan going off air, hosting Dance Deewane, Naagin 4 & more
As Ishq Mein Marjawan will bid adieu soon, we got talking with Arjun Bijlani and here's what the actress had to say about the show, its numbers, and more.
Earlier in the day yesterday, reports about Arjun Bijlani and Nia Sharma starrer Ishq Mein Marjawan going off-air on June 28, 2019 came afore and well, fans are obviously not very happy with the show going off-air. Ishq Mein Marjawan is produced by Beyond Dreams and was first launched with much pomp and show. When the promo first came, the show did seem quite intriguing, and over the two years that it has been on-air, it has had quite the journey.
Aalisha Panwar aka Aaorhi quit the show rather recently since she thought there was nothing to do with her character and Nia Sharma, who was already a part of the show by then, took over as the female lead. With quite a couple of changes in the show, it did sustain for long enough. Reports suggest that the show will be replaced by Choti Sarrdaarni. As Ishq Mein Marjawan will bid adieu soon, we got talking with Arjun Bijlani and here's what the actress had to say about the show, its numbers, and more.
Ishq Mein Marjawan is coming to an end, it has been quite the journey for you?
Yes, I think it was supposed to end in July, but they're doing it a little earlier, a lot of shows have been coming in and hence the decision. The show has come a long way and it is a huge deal for a revenge drama to go on for 2 years. I always wanted to play a grey shaded character and I think Deep's character would be talked about even after q few years as it was very different. Of course, I have done some crazy crazy things on this show and I am really going to miss it once it goes off-air.
The numbers went down over the last few months and Aalisha Panwar quit the show too. What do you have to say about that?
You know Aalisha quit because she thought there was nothing on the show, so be it, eventually the track was going and the show started with a few people, now, I am the only one left of the lot. But I have had a great time on the show, I can't talk on anyone's behalf, but as far as I am concerned, Deep is always going to be very close to me. I think Yash and Mamta did a great job for two years by pulling the show for so long so I think fans should really blame them or anything given such a show ran on television for two years, obviously the story keeps going up and down, as it is for any other show and finally the show is going off air, I obviously want to aim at doing even better things now, I am already doing Dance Deewane now.
The last time around, you were juggling between Dance Deewane and Ishq Mein Marjawan, this time you'll be at ease. Does this help?
Work is worship .#mondaymotivation ..
So yes I will be a little relaxed now and personally, I have been wanting to do a lot of things for a very long time now. I am going to take care of my health, hit the gym again, work on my self. I am also going to be shifting to my new house very soon, so yes, a lot of things to be done. Let's hope to come back with a bang now!
Naagin, Dance Deewane, Ishq Mein Marjawan have been all constant toppers. Is it something that comes to you as a conscious decision as far as the content goes?
I wouldn't call it a conscious decision, I just go follow my heart and I just do things that appeal to me. You know Ishq Mein Marjawan was one of the top 5 shows at a point and you know everything that goes up does come down, then you pull yourself together and try and do good work. You know it is not about numbers, it is about doing different things, creating entertainment in different ways and people continue enjoying your work, something that I try to do.
Almost just when Naagin 3 went off-air, we are already hearing about Naagin 4. Are we going to see you as a part of the show?
As of now, I don't know at all, as far as Naagin 3 is concerned me and Mouni (Roy) have exited in the endgame kind of scenario, I don't know what happens and I have absolutely no idea about it. As of now, Naagin 4 is going to take quite a lot of time to come. So yes, for now, I am going to just take some time off now, spend time with my son, and Dance Deewane is not even very hectic since it is just two days of shoot. I have to think through my career options in the future as well after having done so television for so many years now.
