EXCLUSIVE: From Karan Tacker, Rashami Desai to Aly Goni, 5 actors share what they learnt from lockdown

In a week’s time, we will clock a year to when the lockdown was first announced because of the Covid-19 pandemic, and we have all had our own learnings in the last one year. While some learnt to value time in a better way, others learnt the importance of spending time with your loved ones. So Pinkvilla, got in touch with some leading television actors to know about their experience and learnings from the last one year. Here’s what Karan Tacker, Bigg Boss 14’s Aly Goni, Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah’s Jennifer Mistry Bansiwal, Rashami Desai and Chahatt Khanna have to say. Read on...

Karan Tacker

Lockdown helped you realise who’s most important for us, and for me it’s my family and closest friends. Besides this, we also learnt to not take nature and environment for granted, as this period was a lash back of doing that. So a sense of realisation is definitely my key takeaway from last year.

Aly Goni

I have learnt that expensive things, which I used to shop a lot earlier, are not that important, and living away from the family is so difficult. There were so many poor people who didn’t have food to eat, and I realised how important it is to help each other in such hard times.

Jennifer Mistry Bansiwal

I did all that I couldn’t do earlier because of time constraints. I got to spend time with my daughter, my husband and most importantly with myself. I spent time doing meditation and yoga. I am into radical healing and angel card reading too, and it seemed the universe gave me the chance to start it professionally. I love to cook as well, and always wanted to open a cookery channel on YouTube, so I did that as well. Basically I connected with myself again and learnt to just go with the flow and be in the moment.

The things that I was neglecting I started facing them, and I started understanding the time value better. I think it was much needed for every human. Otherwise it seemed that we had become like a machine, aur ek thehrav ki zarurat thi. So may be, all the clumsiness and the mess has gone out of our lives, and one is more sorted than before is what I feel today.

Chahatt Khanna

I remember there was a curfew on March 21, and we were headed to a lockdown. It still gives me goosebumps to talk about those empty lanes, no stores opened and people being so scared. It actually made me feel like one of those pandemic films in Hollywood. But what I learnt from the lockdown was that things and people had gone very commercial, and we all have come back to normal. I have learnt to live at a minimum.
