EXCLUSIVE: TV stars STRONGLY react to Meghan Markle's explosive statements against the British Royal Family

The Duchess of Sussex and Hollywood star Meghan Markle recently went all out in talking about her troubles faced while being an active member of the British Royal Family. As soon as she revealed her agony, the explosive statements against the British Royal Family, took the internet by storm. Meghan went onto talk about how during her first pregnancy she faced severe racism and was also denied any kind of security to her and her husband, Prince Harry by the royal monarchy.

She also added that all the lowlife conditions pushed her to a crucial point in her life where she faced severe mental health issues and also was contemplating suicide. Markle further had added how despite repeated requests, the royal family refused to allow her any kind of help to support her mental health stating that it would sabotage the family's elite reputation.

This entire saga split the internet into two. A part of netizens supported Meghan and lauded her gumption, the rest left no stone unturned in calling her allegations as an act to garner her mere two minutes of fame.

We got in touch with a few television stars, who firmly put forth their opinion over the most heated fiasco of 2021.

“I don't think it's against the Royal family, but it's against Racism and then the whole stigma around suicidal thoughts. Coming to the second point first, why do we say that the person who committed suicide was weak, he/she should have fought and whatnot. Why don't we rather address the issue. It's not that only human fingerprints are unique, rather the human mindset is unique as well. Each of us is different, we think differently, we react differently. We have seen recently that so many colleagues have succumbed to such thoughts in our industry only. With the members of the royal family speaking openly about suicidal thoughts, I think it will go a long way in destigmatizing the issues of mental health especially in cases where it pushes individuals to the brink of suicidal thoughts.  Now, coming to the first point, Racism is something that the Royals have been wearing under their royal capes for ages. We have first-hand experience of it starting with the 16th century when the East India Company first set foot on the subcontinental soil.  Remember when we used to watch TV serials and films with the adages ‘Dogs and Indians are not allowed.’  I was shocked when Meghan revealed on the show that the Royal family was discussing the colour of the unborn baby's skin. This just shows the level of hypocrisy that is prevalent in the otherwise pomp and glamorous Royal family.  Just imagine it pushed them to a level that the couple had to leave the UK.  I personally feel racism has no place in the world. I am happy that in India we worship Goddess Kali, Lord Ram and Lord Krishna. We celebrate every colour. Perhaps it's time the English took some lessons from the Indian culture as well. This interview reminded me of Princess Diana's interview which was equally shocking in nature. Things like this do help us the commoners understand that the royal family is as prone to human biases as all of us are. At the same, I feel this will herald a new era in the still Victorian mindset of the UK Royals.”

“Modernity and scientific advancements have nothing to do with the decline of racism or mental abuse. We as human beings have and will always function in a way which aims at proving oneself superior. More prestige will always also mean that the fear of losing it all is at its peak. When fear becomes the basis of functioning anything and everything is a possibility. Modernisation and advancement in technology has nothing to do with the basic conditioning of a human mind. These things will always be prevalent especially when it comes to the privileged and the prestigious lot because the fear of losing it all makes them operate from basic fear and less from human compassion.”

Anuj Sachdeva

“Well such issues prevail more in the prestigious families of the world.  There are bigger stakes and media is controlled around them so most of the issues are pushed under the carpet and eventually it becomes a chronic disease. Such issues need to be addressed right in the start and the stature in the society should not be given that much importance as compared to the living people in the royal family.”

“Well, when it comes to mental health, it is the most most important thing for any person and when we talk about mental health, I don't think it's about rich or poor, when things go wrong it can affect anyone irrespective of their financial stature, because if you are not happy at a place or with any matter in life, if you are not mentally stable, then even a single thing won't be fine for you. Mental health is a very important aspect in everybody's life, so I feel "mentally thik rehna, mentally khush rehna important hai. I think agar aap mentally thik ho toh aapke paas paisa ho ya nahi ho, koi bhi cheez ho ya nahi ho, you can adjust". So according to me, I think it has nothing to do with the royal family or nothing to do with all the opinions around it. Mental health issues can happen with anyone and anybody and it is very important to take care of it. When it comes to people around us, it's very important that we support, stand by our loved ones. If someone has turned to you for help then I think you should do your bit and be there for them instead of judging them. Over the years I have realised that the most important thing is to be mentally happy, mentally stable and if that is sorted then you have everything sorted.”

“Well I feel Meghan has made a bold choice to express openly what she witnessed as a royal family member and it is my deep desire to see the change that this can bring about. It is also extremely unfair of people to call her a home breaker bcos as a modern working woman, I strongly believe that the responsibility of keeping it together does not lie only with a woman.”

Kratika Sengar

I think these are age-old topics that will never fade no matter how modern our world gets dark dusky skins will always raise an eyebrow and that's how it will always be. I cannot and won't be in the right position to comment on what my thoughts are in it existing in the royal family but yes I do believe no matter how evolved our society gets few things to remain unchanged and this is one of them.

Aalisha Panwar

"When I heard the interview, I was surprised. It was hard to believe that the most prestigious family too had such things happening. I couldn't believe that all of these things take place even such a elite family of the world. But then listening to the entire interview, I felt very bad for Meghan and couldn't believe that she had to go through such mental trauma during her pregnancy. It's not fair. Just because of her colour, she had to face all this- all of the racism?! She never had wronged anybody so for what was she put through all this trauma. Not fair! All my sympathies to her and I wish she remains strong. But the fact is that even if you are the kind, you are still not perfect. We are humans and are bound to be imperfect. We tend to feel that it somebody is superior then that means that somebody is perfect. But no! That person is imperfect too. He/ She too has flaws. And yes I do believe Meghan. She must have definitely gone through the trauma which is why she is now talking about it so confidently and fearlessly. I respect her for this. And moreover, all of this racism and ill mindset should stop. Judging somebody on the basis of colour is so wrong. Whatever happened with Meghan, I am not happy. But all my support and sympathy is with her. I would wrap up by saying that I wish all becomes well soon."

"Is the modern world devoid of humans? No. We still fight our basic nature as a race which is to discriminate, specially monarchists have always had a certain way of seeing the world. British have had a long long history of racism, we as a nation have seen and lived it for over 200yrs.  As far as mental health or suicidal tendencies are concerned it’s time we wake up and see it as a real health concern, it doesn’t matter where you come from or who you are, it’s just like any other health concern, it exists and can happen to anyone. From Diana to Meghan they have all resonated the same things."
