Box Office Report: 'Kis Kisko Pyaar Karoon' opens well, is in the range of 'Tanu Weds Manu Returns'
Kapil Sharma's 'Kis Kisko Pyaar Karoon' has surprised all and opened well at the box office. The film is looking set for a good first day collection of around 7.5-8 crore nett, thanks to the Bakri Eid holiay.
According to Box Office India, the opening in terms of morning occupancies is in a similar range to films like 'Brothers' and 'Tanu Weds Manu Returns'. The only films which actually opened better than 'Kis Kisko Pyaar Karoon' this year are 'Bajrangi Bhaijaan', 'ABCD 2' and 'Welcome Back' in terms of early show occupancies.
On the other hand, 'Calendar Girls' had poor first day with collections around 1.50 crore nett. The film fared very badly all over with Mumbai circuit having the best collections. 'Bhaag Johnny' was even worse with very bad collections as they may not even reach 25 lakhs nett.
With 'Katti Batti', 'Bhaag Johnny' and 'Calendar Girls' tanking at the box office, Kapil Sharma's debut movie stands great chance to perform better. Also, what works as an advantage for him is the fact that 'Welcome Back' and 'Hero' are out of most theatres. Hence until the release of Akshay Kumar's 'Singh Is Bliing', 'Kis Kisko Pyaar Karoon' has no threat from any of the films and it would be interesting to see how well does the movie fare!
