Jabariya Jodi Box Office Collection Day 3: Sidharth Malhotra and Parineeti Chopra's film fares poorly

Sidharth Malhotra and Parineeti Chopra starrer Jabariya Jodi hit the theatres last week and is not performing well at the box office. The film received mixed response from the audience. Jabariya Jodi is based on instances of ‘Pakadwa Shaadi’ (groom kidnappings) prevalent in Bihar. In the film, Sidharth plays a character named Abhay Singh, while Parineeti portrays the role of Babli Yadav.

Jabariya Jodi faced a very poor weekend of just Rs 11 crore nett as the film could not really grow over the weekend after a low beginning. The collections should improve on Monday due to Bakri Eid holiday. Post Bakri Eid, it will will be very difficult for the film's survival as the new releases come on Thursday. The first week business will be almost its lifetime business.

Talking about the film in an interview with TOI, Parineeti said, "This is just the kind of film Sidharth and I were looking for. The humour, desi swag, the Bihari language and the storyline… everything is in sync. And it’s not a new territory for me as I have been part of similar stories that were based in small towns. They have really helped me to evolve as an actor. It’s definitely challenging, but being an actor gives me a chance to explore many characters."
