Paltan Box Office weekend collection: JP Dutta's multistarrer is a complete washout
Paltan starring Gurmeet Choudhary, Jackie Shroff, Sonu Sood and Arjun Rampal among others, took a dull start at the Box Office.
It was quite an average weekend for the new releases at the Box Office. None of the Hindi films could make a mark at BO. Bollywood films Paltan and Laila Majnu hit the screens on Friday, September 7. JP Dutta's Paltan and Sajid Ali's Laila Majnu locked horns at the ticket windows. However, none of the two could make it big in terms of collections. Paltan starring Gurmeet Choudhary, Jackie Shroff, Sonu Sood and Arjun Rampal among others, took a dull start on Friday.
JP Dutta's war film minted Rs 1.20 crore net approx on Friday and witnessed an average weekend at the Box Office. The film has witnessed fair growth on Saturday and Sunday. Paltan earned Rs 1.70 crore approx on Saturday and with a decent Rs 2.10 crore growth on Sunday; the total business of the film stands at Rs 5 crore net approx. Paltan is based on Nathu La and Cho La military clashes of 1967 that took place along the Sikkim Border.
On the other hand, Laila Majnu, which released along with Paltan witnessed a dull weekend. The film featuring new faces Avinash Tiwary and Tripti Dimri is receiving some good reviews from the critics and audiences alike. However, due to lack of buzz, Laila Majnu has not been able to put reasonable figures at the Box Office. Directed by Sajid Ali, Laila Majnu, a beautiful love story has done a total business of Rs 1.55 crore net at the Box Office in three days.
Laila Majnu is the romantic adaption of the Persian narrative Lail and Majnun. It is the classic love story, but with a contemporary setup in the scenic beauty of Kashmir.
Meanwhile, Stree, starring Shraddha Kapoor, Rajkummar Rao, and Pankaj Tripathi, is doing well at the Box Office after its first week. Hollywood release, The Nun, the latest installment of the Conjuring franchise is leading in collections.
