Why Cheat India Box Office Collection Day 1: Emraan Hashmi starrer opens on a dull note
Starring Emraan Hashmi, Why Cheat India hit the screens today. However, the movie struggled to get the audiences to watch it. Here’s a closer look at the Box Office Collection of Day 1.
Every Friday, the Indian film industry brings forth new films to entertain the masses. Sometimes, those movies work, while other times, they don’t. This Friday 4 movies released which were all from different genres, including Rangeela Raja, Fraud Saiyaan, Bombairiya and Why Cheat India. Amongst them, Why Cheat India starring Emraan Hashmi had become the talk of the town since the time the trailer was released. Helmed by Soumik Sen, the movie had made headlines when its name was changed.
The movie has released today and the box office figures are in. Emraan Hashmi who was seen playing a different role in this movie seemed to be the only recognisable face among the cast. As per the box office collection for day 1 of Why Cheat India, Emraan’s movie struggled to find an audience and got a dull opening with just 5% occupancy. This has been lower than any of Emraan Hashmi’s previous films.

The trailer of Why Cheat India surely left the audience intrigued due to the unique storyline. In the movie, Emraan plays the role of a conman who takes advantage of the loopholes in the education system of India. We get to see Emraan in a never-before-seen avatar where he rigs exams and leaks questions papers. The movie is expected to pick up in multiplexes in the coming days. It will be interesting to see how the movie does over the weekend.
