Rumours Don't Affect my Equation with Arjun Kapoor - Athiya Shetty
Athiya Shetty recently walked the ramp for two designers - Namrata Joshipura for Amazon Fashion Week and Manish Malhotra for the Cancer Patients Aids Association event and she was flawless.
Given that Athiya is tall and has a slender figure, one wonders why she never took up to modelling?
"I never thought of getting into modelling. In fact, when I was studying in New York, I got many modelling offers but my dream was only Bollywood. I wanted to be an actor since childhood."
Ask her if she feels nervous before taking the ramp and she admits, "I am always nervous. It is good positive nervousness that I have. Something like butterflies in my stomach. It is a nice feeling though."
Unlike many newcomers, Athiya is rather praised for her fashion sense. Probe her if she has always been a fashionista since childhood, and Shetty laughs, "Not at all. I am still not into Fashion. You have to thank my stylist Ami Patel. She has make me keep my identity and form my personality. She has kind of done a really good job."
She adds, "My personality is bohochic - that is comfortable, easy and I don't think too much when I am putting things together. It is minimalist. But I am more comfortable when I am wearing Indian.
Interestingly, ever since she debuted in Bollywood, she has been compared to B-town's fashionista Sonam Kapoor. Ask her what she thinks about the Neerja actress and Athiya says, "I think Sonam is a personality who is extremely positive, warm and is able to own whatever she wears. And that is amazing about her. She is great when it comes to fashion and style. She has the ability to make everything look her own."
Meanwhile, on the work front, Athiya has been rumoured to have signed a Karan Johar film and has also been approached for Aashiqui 3. Quiz her on it and the Hero actress clarifies, "I haven't signed anything yet. I am still reading the scripts. 2nd film is more important than the first one. I am not in hurry. I want the right script. I will take time. I haven't been approached by Karan. And Aashiqui 3? Really?"
Apart from speculations regarding her work life, media is also abuzz with reports of her being 'more than friends' with Arjun Kapoor. Ask her how does she react to such reports and pat comes the reply, "I don't take the rumours seriously. It doesn't even affect my equation with him."
