EXCLUSIVE: Boney Kapoor: Mr India sequel with the original cast is definitely on the cards
Boney Kapoor confirmed to Pinkvilla that the Mr India sequel is definitely on.
We read that Boney Kapoor is planning to remake his blockbuster Mr India, and that too, with the electrifying, original cast. That's right, Sridevi and Anil Kapoor had taken Bollywood and its followers by storm when they displayed some crackling chemistry in their 1987 film. The film was directed by Shekhar Kapur. However, as per the latest buzz, the sequel, which will also feature an additional onscreen couple, will be directed by someone else.
However, when Pinkvilla contacted Boney Kapoor, the producer revealed to us exclusively, that the news is indeed right. Kapoor confirmed to Pinkvilla that a sequel to his hit movie is indeed on the cards. He said, "Yes Mr India sequel is definitely on. However, I can't talk any more now or reveal any more details. We will make the official announcements after everything thing is worked out creatively."

In the meanwhile, Sridevi and Anil Kapoor will be seen in their respective ventures MOM and Mubarakan. Mom is directed by Ravi Udyawar and is produced by Boney Kapoor. It also stars Akshaye Khanna, Abhimanyu Singh, Sajal Ali and Adnan Siddiqui in lead roles, with Nawazuddin Siddiqui in a special appearance. It is set to release on July 7th.
Mubarakan is directed by Anees Bazmee and features Arjun Kapoor, Ileana D'Cruz and Athiya Shetty along with Anil.
