Aamir Khan will be reuniting with Secret Superstar director Advait Chandan for Forrest Gump Hindi remake.
After the magnum opus Thugs of Hindostan starring Aamir Khan in lead role proved to be a failure at the box office, the actor who was supposed to begin work on Mahabharata and Mogul has kept the projects aside to begin work on the Forrest Gump Hindi remake, rights for which he has apparently bought. Now, we have learnt that the actor will be reuniting with director Advait Chandan for the same, who previously directed Secret Superstar. Now, this indeed is a big news for Aamir fans.
For those uninitiated, Forrest Gump is a 1994 American romantic comedy-drama film which is based on the 1986 novel of the same name by Winston Groom. Directed by Robert Zemeckis and written by Eric Roth, the movie stars Tom Hanks, Robin Wright, Gary Sinise, Mykelti Williamson and Sally Field. The movie chronicles around several decades in the life of Forrest Gump (Hanks), a slow-witted but kind-hearted man from Alabama. The movie is set in the United States.
Meanwhile. ToH also starred Amitabh Bachchan, Katrina Kaif and Fatima Sana Shaikh in pivotal roles. The movie was directed by Victor and has been produced by Yash Raj Films. In the movie, Aamir played the role of Firangi Mallah, a witty selfish thug who later has a change of heart. On the other hand, Sr Bachchan played the role of Khudabaksh Azaad.
