Ananya Panday forayed into Bollywood only a couple of months back but the young star has already taken up on her to fight social media bullying and trolling head on. The actress recently launched her digital social cooperative initiative called #SoPositive where Ananya not only addresses the problem of social media trolling but also educates on how to deal with it and stay positive. In an exclusive interaction with PINKVILLA, Ananya opened up on it and admitted that she has realised that she had to face hate very early in her career which helped her realise how imp it was to not get bogged down.

Ask her when was it that she realised that she needs to take any such initiative, Ananya replied, “I don't think there was any such moment. I was exposed to social media very early on and I saw a lot of hate being directed at such a young age, not just at me but also other people around me. So I think, there wasn't any definite moment but over time seeing people deal with hate and toxicity made me kind of realise.”

Ananya’s mother Bhavna Panday has been the most affected seeing the social media trolls against her daughter. When asked if this makes her feel proud, Ananya added, “I think the problem with cyberbullying and people being mean is that you are not the only one who is getting affected, it is not just between you and the bully, it is on a public platform where everyone is seeing it, be it your parents, your friends and random strangers. Even with me, whenever I used to get hate or got trolled, my parents would get more affected than me, especially my mom, so she is very happy that I have taken this cause because when you become an actor, I think people start taking you seriously.”

“I think I get very sad when someone comments on my family, my dad or my mother or my sister. That really infuriates me,” she concluded.

Ananya made her Bollywood debut with Student Of The Year 2. Check out the entire conversation right here.
