EXCLUSIVE: Here's why Katrina Kaif was missing from Salman Khan's Bharat teaser
Salman Khan shared the teaser for Bharat, also starring Katrina Kaif, today. Here's why the leading lady was missing in the teaser.
Salman Khan-Katrina Kaif's Bharat has been the talk of the town for quite sometime now. The makers have just released the first teaser of the movie, which was earlier speculated to come out on January 26, 2019. However, the team had some different plans and they surprised the audience with the teaser, a day before the speculated date. Those who have seen the teaser, will agree that it is a brilliant tease. Salman Khan in and as Bharat is sure to leave you excited for the film.
However, if there is one thing that the fans may be left wondering is the fact that, there is no glimpse of the film's leading lady Katrina Kaif. Given that the actress, who received a lot of positive acclaim for her character in Zero, has an author-backed role in Bharat, it's surprising to not find her in the teaser. But we know the reason why Ms. Kaif isn't a part of the Bharat teaser. A source in the know has revealed, "Katrina plays a pivotal role in the movie. And the film's release is almost 6 months away. Hence the makers decided to keep her look and role guarded. It was a team decision to only establish Salman Khan's character in the teaser. Katrina's look and character details would be revealed only in the trailer, which will come out nearer to the film's release date."
Adds another source, "Katrina Kaif plays an absolute desi. She has an Indian look. In fact, she also did an extensive workshop with director Ali Abbas Zafar as a part of her prep. And introducing her role in the teaser might have given out the story slightly. Hence it was a deliberate move to keep her character away from the teaser."
Well, it seems we will have to wait some more to catch a glimpse of the actress.
Directed by Ali Abbas Zafar, Bharat releases on Eid 2019.
