Rajkummar Rao is currently all geared up for his next release Judgementall Hai Kya where he will be seen in a never before seen avatar. The actor plays the role of Keshav in the thriller comedy which releases on July 26, 2019. Judgementall Hai Kya mired through a number of controversies before finally getting a release date. Recently, in an exclusive interview with PINKVILLA, Rajkummar opens up about his take on Indians being sensitive, the craziest thing he has done, why he likes to be called "unconventional" and also reacted to his co-star Kangana Ranaut's allegations of selective outrage over the title.
During a launch recently, Ranaut said that when a Salman Khan movie was supposed to be titled Mental, there was no protest but it is only when she comes with a movie which has mental in its title, the protest ensues. When asked Rajkummar about the same, he said, "Even with our film, when the posters were released with the title Mental Hai Kya, a year back, there was no protest that time, but I think when the trailer came out, that's when people started noticing."
Ask them if he feels we, as Indians, are too sensitive, he added, "I think people have their point of views. My only thing is before seeing the final thing or the final product, they shouldn't have their preconceived notion. Like this one, I am very happy the way it happened with our film. A proper screening was held for the association; they saw it and a discussion happened, and that's how we came to the conclusion that we should change the title. I think that is how it should be done. You don't have to protest against anything without knowing about it or having a dialogue with the said party."
Rajkummar Rao also has RoofiAfza, Made in China, Turram Khan among others in the pipeline. Watch the interview here:
