EXCLUSIVE: Shah Rukh Khan in talks for Sajid Nadiadwala's Land Of Lungi?
LOL: Land OF Lungi was originally offered to Akshay Kumar and then went to Vicky Kaushal. But with SRK planning to come on board for the actioner, the project has definitely become a bigger proposition.
Shah Rukh Khan has possibly worked with almost all the banners in the industry. Similarly, Sajid Nadiadwala has produced and made films with the biggest of the stars that includes the likes of Salman Khan and Akshay Kumar. But Sajid and SRK, despite being good friends, have never really done a film together. That is possibly going to change soon.
An informer close to the development reveals, "Sajid and Shah Rukh had been discussing on making a film for quite sometime. Their collaboration has been on the cards and now, it's mostly happening. Sajid has offered LOL Land OF Lungi to Shah Rukh Khan. It's a masala actioner that's a remake of Ajith starrer Veeram. The film will be directed by Farhad Samji."
Shah Rukh, who had taken a small break post Zero, has been busy hearing scripts. "He has not given a green signal to any project. It's true he is in talks for LOL but he has not taken a call on the same yet. He's reading all the scripts that are coming to him and will decide on his next project in a few months from now. He has watched Veeram and liked how the makers have spinned off the Hindi version. LOL is not only massy but is extremely funny and entertaining. As of now, SRK has liked the script." Will he do it? Your guess is as good as ours. But he's definitely very good in the space. Rohit Shetty's Chennai Express which also happens to be his highest grosser till date, was in a similar space and had SRK hitting it out of the park.
The film was originally being planned with Akshay Kumar who decided to move on to another project under the same banner (Housefull 4) and then, conversations were also initiated with Vicky Kaushal for the same. But now, with SRK being approached, it's definitely become a bigger project for sure.
