EXCLUSIVE: Sushant Singh Rajput and Shraddha Kapoor's Chhichhore shifting to avoid clash with Prabhas' Saaho?
While Saaho shifted to August 30 to avoid the three way clash with Batla House and Mission Mangal, it was clashing with Chhichhore. But the Shraddha Kapoor and Sushant Singh Rajput is mostly going to release one week later now.
This Independence Day, the industry would have witnessed a three way clash between a few big films. T-Series was caught in a rut with both their production ventures Batla House and Saaho releasing alongside Mission Mangal. While Batla House has John Abraham returning with his hit Satyameva Jayate team, Saaho will mark Prabhas' debut in Hindi opposite Shraddha Kapoor. Mission Mangal, on the other hand, has a huge ensemble that includes names like Akshay Kumar, Vidya Balan, Taapsee Pannu, Sonakshi Sinha and others.
In between this huge clash, what proved to be a little bit of respite was Saaho shifting its release date to August 30, after it was decided that the film might not be ready in time to meet its original I-Day deadline. That meant a big clash with another Shraddha starrer. Nitesh Tiwari's Chhichhore, produced by Sajid Nadiadwala and toplined by Sushant Singh Rajput was also hitting the marquee on the same day. But now, there's been a shift.
A source tells us, "Both the film are anticipated. While one has Prabhas who has a huge mass following post Baahubali, the other marks a return of the Dangal director in cinema plexes. Whoever has watched the rushes of Chhichhore have wonderful things to say about the film as well. And they both have the same female lead, so a clash can be detrimental to both the films. It seems good sense has prevailed and Chhichhore will now hit screens on September 6, a week after. So the clash has been averted." When we contacted Sajid Nadiadwala's team on the same, their official spokesperson denied the news and said, "We are not shifting." Now, it needs to be seen if there's actually a change in the dates!
