As the Me Too movement in India is gaining momentum, more and more women are coming out against people from Bollywood who have sexually harassed them. Recently, producer Vinta Nanda accused Alok Nath for raping her and sexually molesting her. Her accusations against the so-called Sanskari actor have been receiving support from Bollywood as well.
Now, Vikram Bhatt has sent an EXCLUSIVE open letter to Pinkvilla, in light of the Me Too movement’s growth where he has mentioned that it was about time that women came out againts the perpetrators. In his open letter, he addressed every victim of harassment and explained what #MeToo movement is all about. He lauded all women who came out against the accused and mentioned, "It was a matter of time before a harassment victim spoke up and called out a power-drunk exploitative pervert that lurked behind the garb of a filmdom Demi-God. It was a given that when one spoke up the others would feel emboldened and follow in raising their voices." In his letter, the director-producer tried to address what the Me Too movement was all about and how it has affected the lives of many women who have been exploited in the name of work. In strong words, he condemned all those men who used their position to harass young talent from the industry and bashed them up by calling them #MetooMan. He even mentioned that all those who have done wrong, will be called out by the victim one day or another.

After the rise in the number of complaints against Bollywood actors, producers and comedians, the authorities too have come into action. CINTAA also sent a show cause notice to Actor Alok Nath on the basis of allegations of Vinta Nanda. On the other hand, AIB ended all association with Alok Nath, Utsav Chakraborty, Tanmay Bhatt and asked Gursimran Khamba to step away. Vikas Bahl, who was also accused by an ex-employee of Phantom films, also has been omitted from various projects that he was doing. Meanwhile, Tanushree Dutta will record her statement against Nana Patekar on the allegations of Sexual Harassment by the actor later this evening with the Mumbai Police. Post all the complaints, the netizens have called it the start of #MeToo movement in India.
